Originally a Saddleseat rider, Stephanie has a very natural ability as an Equitation rider. She showed Saddlebreds as a teenager on the National level very successfully. She currently owns an 18 year old Saddlebred named Wizard(who is boarded at Stonegate). Her and Whiz aren’t competitive and love to gallop around trails, especially because Whiz gets bored with arena work.

As an Integrated Mathematics major, Stephanie wants to teach high school math. She says that although it’s a weird desire for career, she loves to help people, teach, and math, so math teacher was a perfect fit.

Stephanie continued to ride at college because she knew she couldn’t go more than a couple days without horses. When it comes to IHSA, Stephanie has her ups and downs. “I like that everyone has to ride different horses all the time. I think it makes life more challenging, although some of the drama can get frustrating.”

Stephanie has always been obsessed with horses. She begged for lessons since she was a toddler and her dad agreed claiming, “It would be a great thing to keep her away from boys.” However, when Stephanie turned 13 and had her bat mitzvah, her dad gave a speech where he said boys were looking better and better everyday.

At Stonegate, Stephanie’s favorite horse is Skylar. She says, “Besides my horse, I adore Skylar. He always makes me laugh.”
